Cosmetic condition of our used Apple products
The cosmetic condition refers to the visible and external state of a product, separate from its technical performance. At iUsed, all our products are 100% technically functional and have been tested on more than 50 points. Because every refurbished product is unique, the appearance may vary from device to device. For example, one device may have a small scratch on the screen, while another may look almost like new. It is not possible to choose where any signs of use may be located.To give you the clearest and most honest picture possible, we work with four different grading levels. This way, you know exactly what to expect from the appearance of your refurbished device.
The Cosmetic Conditions
New in the Box (5+ Stars)
Essentially brand new: the product has been refurbished by the manufacturer and is packaged in the original box. Because we check the contents of the box, we list these products as New in an open box.Appearance:
- Housing: As new.
- 100% technically functional.
As Good As New (5 Stars)
Appearance:- Housing: Almost indistinguishable from new.
- Screen: Scratch-free / almost indistinguishable from new.
- 100% technically functional.
Lightly Used (4 Stars)
Appearance:- Housing: Light scratches and possibly a small dent in the casing.
- Screen: Minimal scratches (difficult to see).
- 100% technically functional.
Visibly Used (3 Stars)
Appearance:- Housing: May show visible signs of use, with several small scratches and dents that do not affect performance.
- Screen: May contain scratches that are visible but do not interfere with use.
- 100% technically functional.
Please note: These cosmetic conditions only refer to signs of use on the products. iUsed does not sell second-hand Macs with technical faults or defects unless this is clearly stated. Any such listed defects are clearly reflected in the price.
Additional Status Descriptions
Some products have an additional status description. Below you can read what they mean.| Condition | Description |

| Light spot-on display | The display shows a light spot or slight discolouration but otherwise works perfectly. |
| Engraved casing | A permanent marking or engraving has been placed on the casing and cannot be removed. |
| New in box | The product is new and comes in a sealed box. This product has not been used and has not been refurbished. You can expect the quality you are used to from Apple. |
| New (open box) | The product is new in packaging that is no longer sealed. This may mean the device has been switched on once and that the battery has been charged up to a maximum of 10 times. With these products, you can still expect the quality you are used to from Apple, but at a lower price. |
| Refurbished by the manufacturer | The product has a new casing but may contain used components. The product has been refurbished by the manufacturer. These models were returned or used as demonstration units. The battery has been charged a maximum of 10 times. They have been repaired where necessary but can no longer be sold as new. |
